Announcement from Courtney

13 Years ago I walked onto a stage on the BYU campus, my heart fluttering with nerves, to perform for my first time with Noteworthy. It was my first cappella performance, and when we finished our set, I knew that this was THE thing. MY thing. I had found my passion, and since that moment I have been completely immersed in the a cappella community. 4 Years in Noteworthy, then onto The Sing-Off with The Backbeats, out to the Bay with The Riveters, Carnegie Hall with JANE, and now making waves with HIVE. With each group I learned something about myself, met amazing people, traveled to new places, and sang for epic audiences. I have been on quite the journey, and I can’t begin to express how grateful I am for the opportunities I have been given to share this talent that I have become so passionate about. With all of this said, I am here to say that I am ready for a new chapter. At WeSing 2019 I will be not only saying goodbye to my time with HIVE, but also to the stage. I am at a point in my journey where I need a little change.

To HIVE - I love each of you. What I have experienced with you has been unlike any of the other musical adventures I’ve been on. Mostly because it has been more than just music. I have learned so much about myself, and about the importance of bread, pasta, and most importantly intention setting. I know that the mission of HIVE is something the cappella community, and our country are starving for right now. I am proud to have been a part of your journey. Thank you for believing in me. I will miss you all dearly.

To my Audience - You are my drug of choice. I have ridden the high of the stage, and of your applause for many years. Thank you for listening. Thank you for your support. Thank you for bringing me joy, and laughing at my jokes. I am sure I’ll see you again.
